FDM Group Canada Inc. is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities. FDM is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. This accessibility plan outlines the steps FDM is taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Strategies and Actions

Customer Service

FDM Group Canada Inc. is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods and services to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.

FDM Group Canada Inc. provides accessible customer service training to employees, volunteers and others who deal with the public or other third parties on our behalf. Training is also provided to people involved in the development of policies, plans, practices, and procedures related to the provision of our goods and services.

Training

FDM Group Canada Inc. is committed to providing training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities.

FDM Group Canada Inc. has a Learning Management Platform for all employees that encompasses a wide variety of compliance and accessibility training. Staff are trained on Accessible Customer Service and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act within the first 2 weeks of being hired.

FDM Group Canada Inc. has created and delivered Unconscious Bias Training to all staff. This is an ongoing initiative as all new staff moving forward will be required to partake in this training. Additionally, Different Abilities Awareness Training is planned to roll out to managers as phase one, and it is intended to be rolled out to all staff as the second phase of the project.

FDM Group Canada Inc. will work on a communication and training plan to increase the employee awareness on the different accessibility features of our systems to ensure our employees are properly equipped to support our workforce and customers.

Design of Office Space

FDM Group Canada Inc. commits to conducting an internal audit of office spaces on an annual basis to ensure the office space is accessible and inclusive to all staff.

This includes ensuring an accessible washroom is in working status, accessible door push buttons are in working condition and in appropriate areas of the workspace, and alternative accessibility means are provided in the event of an emergency.

FDM Group Canada Inc. has implemented and is currently practicing an internal process surrounding “Persons Requiring Assistance” in the event of an emergency or evacuation.

As part of FDM’s continues efforts to support its diverse workforce a quiet room was created at FDM’s Toronto office. The goal of the room is to provide a calm space for our employees with different religious, medical, or sensory needs requiring a quiet moment.

FDM Group Canada Inc. strives to adhere to accessibility standards and is committed to ensuring our website content is available to people regardless of ability. We have tested to ensure our content is available for most modern web browsers, although display variations may occur.

FDM Group Canada Inc. continuously aims to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) of the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI).

Continuous Review of Policies and Practices

FDM Group Canada Inc. commits to review AODA internal policies, programs, and initiatives on an annual basis.

Policies and programs include but are not limited to requesting accommodations process, continuous support for those who require accommodation, return to work accommodation plans, and employment standards and best practices.

Alternate format documents

Candidates and clients can request documents such as company policies or brochures in a variety of formats include large print, and accessible PDF, among others. To request documents in a different format, contact us at enquiriesCA@fdmgroup.com.

Requesting Accommodations

FDM Group Canada Inc. has a dedicated People Team that is qualified and trained to support individuals requesting accommodations in the workplace. The People Team are well versed on the Ontario Human Rights Code and how it relates to protected employee groups, accommodations, and employer responsibilities.

Candidates can request individualized accommodation and assistance as part of their application process and employees can request accommodation and assistance at any time with the People Team.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

FDM Canada Inc. will review this accessibility plan regularly to outline the policies and actions that have been taken and will be put into place to prevent and remove barriers and address current and future requirements of the AODA. This plan will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years.
