Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our ethos

At FDM, diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our ethos, fostering equity and driving business success. With 4,000+ employees from over 90 nationalities, we champion diversity in all its forms, including gender,
ethnicity, neurodiversity, and LGBTQIA+. We also strongly support parental and caring responsibilities.

From our origins in Brighton, UK, we now have 19 centres located across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific and are on the FTSE4Good Index.

We recognise that each employee has a unique identity and celebrate these differences. We are continually striving to create a workplace where our employees feel safe, have the opportunity to thrive and are encouraged to be their true selves.

What we do

Our purpose is to help people forge long-term careers whilst driving diversity, equity, and inclusion. FDM’s inclusive careers programs aim to ensure that everyone begins their professional life on an equal footing.

We are also tackling inequality by partnering with schools in lower socio-economic areas, encouraging more young people to pursue a career in tech.

Our work in numbers

FDM actively pursues gender equality in the workforce and has experienced a consistent rise in women joining our company. 33% of our global and 36% of our APAC employees identify as female.

We have been a signatory to the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (“UNWEP”) since 2013 and have a strong tradition of recognising and celebrating the achievements of women in the technology sector.

How we do it

Inclusive hiring

We encourage applications from candidates with non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) backgrounds. Our aim is to make a career in tech open to all.

The KPMG Business and Technology Traineeship Pathway, in collaboration with FDM

The KPMG Technology and Business Traineeship Pathway, in collaboration with FDM offers high school graduates a direct entry into tech, blending paid experience with expert mentoring. Rotations in KPMG’s business units and FDM’s tailored coaching equip them with hands-on skills, industry exposure, and nationally recognised qualifications.

Facilitating return to work

Our Returners Program helps experienced professionals successfully transition back to the workplace after a career break.

Closing the gender pay gap

In 2024, we are reporting a median pay gap of -1.5% and a mean pay gap of -1.7% in favour
of females in Australia.

Celebrating diversity

We celebrate cultural events year-round across APAC, with a focus on diversity in our People team’s roadmap. From Ramadan and Diwali to Harmony Day and the Dragon Boat Festival, our teams come together to learn about and honour diverse cultures.

Disability inclusion

We ensure fair consideration to the employment of disabled people and provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment stages to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates. We’re recognised as a ‘Level 1 Confident’ member of the Business Disability Forum since 2017.
