We are thrilled that today FDM UK announced our charity partnership with Anthony Nolan, a charity dedicated to beating blood cancer.

Our staff, trainees and consultants across the UK were asked to put forward their suggestions to accompany our Ex Forces charity, Walking with the Wounded.

We received a huge number of suggestions of incredible causes. A shortlist of charities were invited in to FDM’s offices to present to the board who made the final decision.

Anthony Nolan was selected as this provides an opportunity to enter into a truly unique partnership that goes beyond traditional fundraising and raising awareness.

Anthony Nolan works to match volunteer donors to the 2,000 people in the UK who are in desperate need of a lifesaving stem cell transplant each year. Their goal is to increase and diversify the donor register, doubling the amount of young people they are adding but also increasing the number of donors from a BAME background, an area that is currently underrepresented.

At FDM, we hire around 1000 people a year across the UK and from a diverse range of backgrounds. Through this partnership, FDM will cover the cost for our people to join the donor register, helping to boost the volume and diversity of the donor register, possibly leading to a lifesaving match.

We will also be supporting the charity through a number of fundraising activities throughout the year, engaging our highly charitable and engaged workforce.

Rod Flavell, CEO of FDM says, “We feel that Anthony Nolan is a perfect match for us and will be encouraging our amazing employees, who regularly raise money for charities, to sign up to the Anthony Nolan register and help even more people.”

Henny Braund; CEO from Anthony Nolan says, “We are delighted that Anthony Nolan has been chosen as FDM Group’s charity partner. By working together to add much-needed diversity to the register we will improve the chance of everyone finding the match they need. Together, we hope to give more people with blood cancer and blood disorders a second chance of life.”
