Ahmed-Nuur Mohamed
Ahmed-Nuur Mohamed’s journey to becoming a Solutions Engineer/Data Engineer is an inspiring story of growth, curiosity, and passion for technology and personal development. He joined FDM in September 2022. Initially starting with a solid foundation in SQL, Ahmed-Nuur has since expanded his expertise to Python, applying his skills to real-world client projects and continually striving to build scalable data solutions. His work on a transaction algorithm, which handled billions of data rows and provided valuable insights for clients, is just one example of his growing technical capabilities.
Beyond his technical expertise, Ahmed-Nuur’s journey reflects his evolving role in the tech industry. What began as creating SQL functions and resolving bugs quickly grew into working on complex tasks, such as building data sources for dashboards and designing algorithms to manage large volumes of data. With each new challenge, he embraces opportunities to upskill, particularly in machine learning, which he is excited to integrate into future projects.
Looking back, Ahmed-Nuur shares that he once dreamed of becoming a bus driver, fascinated by the iconic red buses of London and the idea of exploring the city while being part of people’s daily journeys.
Looking ahead, Ahmed-Nuur is excited about the role of technology, especially AI and machine learning, in shaping the future. He predicts that AI will become an integral part of the global economy, revolutionising industries by automating repetitive tasks and opening doors for new opportunities. However, he also acknowledges the importance of responsible implementation and regulation to prevent potential issues like wealth disparity or societal disruption.
As technology continues to advance, he envisions a world where augmented reality transforms how we interact, learn, and work, creating new opportunities while also posing challenges in social dynamics. For tech professionals, Ahmed-Nuur believes adaptability and creativity will be essential to navigating these changes.
Vytautas Klimavicius
Our Alumni’s Vytautas’s path to success is as unique as his passion for technology. His journey began with a degree in Military Science from the Colombian Military Academy after initial studies in computer science. Following his retirement as a Captain, Vytautas co-founded a startup before joining FDM in 2020, where he honed his skills as a software consultant. Today, he’s a Lead Software Developer, embodying the belief that “Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.”
Reflecting on his career, Vytautas shares, “My experience in Java and OOP has been essential to my success, and I’m always learning to ensure I deliver top-quality code.” He believes that skills in data science and mathematics will be essential for professionals, offering a solid foundation for navigating the evolving landscape of technology.
Ultimately, his career journey is a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passion, adapting to change, and using discipline and leadership to overcome challenges—qualities that will continue to serve him well as he contributes to the future of technology.
Wenying Lee
Wenying started her journey with FDM in October 2022 in our IT Operations Practice. During her time at FDM, she gained invaluable skills, particularly in Unix Servers, which she now uses daily in her current role. In particular, the OS Admin Module has proved especially useful, offering a solid foundation in troubleshooting that has been essential for incident management.
Currently, in her role as an IT Support Analyst in an international bank, Wenying’s primary responsibility is overseeing the production environment for over 100 applications. She ensures they function optimally and that service disruptions are minimised. Additionally, her work guarantees that any updates or changes to the applications don’t impact end users and that any issues are resolved swiftly.
Reflecting on her experience, Wenying shares, “I’ve learned so much from my colleagues and mentors. The freedom to solve problems independently, coupled with the support when needed, made my transition to client assignment seamless.”
Interestingly, growing up, Wenying dreamt of becoming a detective. While her role may not involve solving crimes, she certainly plays a different kind of detective as she investigates and resolves issues in her work. Above all, her favourite part of working in tech is the opportunity to collaborate with various teams, constantly learning from each interaction. This aspect keeps her role dynamic and interesting, providing new insights daily.
Looking forward, Wenying firmly believes that troubleshooting will remain crucial in the tech industry, especially as technology grows more complex. “In both our personal and professional lives, we must be ready to tackle challenges head-on.”
Bharathi Baalasuntharam
As a Quality Engineering Lead in an international bank, Bharathi’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of excellence is evident in everything she does. Whether ensuring WCAG compliance or leveraging the AEM content management system to build robust test artefacts, she continuously strives to make a meaningful difference in her work.
Her responsibilities span various types of testing—UI, functionality, mobile, usability, API, and accessibility—ensuring that high-quality, scalable solutions are delivered for the client application enterprise. Furthermore, she collaborates closely with a diverse set of stakeholders, including product owners, business analysts, developers, and fellow QEs, to ensure that every component and feature meets rigorous standards.
Reflecting on her journey, Bharathi shares, “This award is a testament to the hard work and collaboration I’ve experienced with FDM and client teams. Working alongside my colleagues, mentors, and stakeholders has been an incredible experience, and I’m excited to continue pushing boundaries in quality engineering.”
