Are you struggling to find your perfect job? If so, look no further, as we’ve found the top apps that can assist you in landing your dream career. They will connect you with the right people, the right job postings, and best of all, they’re free.

LinkedIn and LinkedIn Job Search

LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional social network, with more than 460 million users worldwide. Your LinkedIn profile is basically your online résumé, and you can almost always guarantee that future employers will be checking out your profile to view your past and present work experience. Download the LinkedIn mobile app to update your profile on the go, reach out to influential people in your field, and see whether any of your favourite companies are hiring.

In conjunction to LinkedIn, there is also LinkedIn Job Search. This app allows you to search for open positions in your industry and sort them by date posted, salary and other essential criteria. When you find a job that catches your eye, you can save the job and apply directly in-app with your LinkedIn profile. The app will also recommend jobs based on your profile and past search criteria, and notify you when a relevant job goes live in your area.

Both available on Android and iOS

Monster Job Search and Monster.com Interviews

The Monster Job Search app is the mobile companion to Monster.com, one of the largest online job boards out there. It allows you to search for new openings, filter results based on your preferences, apply to postings, receive notifications when new positions are listed, etc. You can also sign in to your Monster account on the app to view your uploaded resumes, cover letters, and previously submitted job applications.

Available on Android and iOS

To help with your job interview preparation, Monster.com has also created Monster.com Interviews. It walks you through everything you should do before, during, and after a job interview. It contains many useful tips and features, such as a list of sample questions and advice on how to best answer each. It even has a film-yourself feature so you can see and hear yourself answering each question to catch any bad habits before your next interview.

Available on iOS

Switch

Switch is essentially the Tinder of job searching. You swipe right on job postings you like, and swipe left on those you don’t. Similarly, hiring managers swipe right or left on candidates based on their profile information and qualifications. When there is a match, both the candidate and employer are notified and they can begin a chat on the app’s messaging feature to begin the recruitment process.

Available on Android

Glassdoor

Glassdoor provides you with an inside look at jobs and companies. It gives you access to company reviews and testimonials from real employees (former or current) of the companies, as well as salary information and interview questions. For this reason, Glassdoor is a must-have for those searching for employment. This free insider information helps you decide whether a company is a good fit for you before you start.

Available on Android and iOS

Snag

Snag (formely Snagajob) is perfect for those looking for a job to make ends meet while they continue their search for their dream career. It allows you to search for full-time or part-time hourly work sorted by industry, location, and other filters, as well as set up email alerts, and apply with one click. What makes it stand out amongst other job board apps is that you can add a personality quiz or a video to your profile to let hiring managers know a bit more about yourself. The app also even matches you with jobs that it registers as a good fit with your profile.

Available on Android and iOS

Job Search Engine

If you’re tired of being misled by outdated or fake listings, Linkup’s Job Search Engine is the job search app for you. It ensures that you’re only seeing legitimate current jobs pulled directly from company websites. It lets you search using filters such as keywords, company, and location, save listings you like, revisit search history, receive alerts for relevant jobs, and apply directly through the app.

Available on the web and iOS

We hope these apps aid you in your job search, and wish you the best of luck with finding your dream career!
